Frequently Asked Questions
What is Koyero?
Koyero Art is an art label by artist Ed Reininga. Koyero’s origins date back to 2005 in the Netherlands. The label was known at that time as Images from Within. Koyero Art sells Ed’s work in editions of 1 to a maximum of 100. Sales go through the online store Koyero.com.
Who is behind Koyero?
Ed Reininga is the driving force behind Koyero. With a background in computer science, business administration and later transpersonal psychology, Ed has worked as a management consultant for large companies and government institutions in the Netherlands. Ed tends to do something completely different every 7-10 years. He finds it a challenge to reinvent himself. As an artist he is completely self-taught.
What are his sources of inspiration?
He feels a kinship with expressionism and artists such as Wassily Kandinsky, the Der Blaue Reiter movement and Mark Rothko.
Especially with the beginnings of abstract art. Strangely enough, already 100 years ago. Cubism and the Der Blaue Reiter movement explore new perspectives on art. The artists within the Blaue Reiter had no interest in any academic form of visual art or regulations about art. They saw emotion as the main element of the creative ability. An intriguing statement is: “In the emancipation of color, color must liberate itself from form.”
Why the Blue Reiter?
In Über das Geistige in der Kunst, Kandinsky says that color and sound have psychological effects on the human soul. He formulated a theory of timbre, which had a major influence on the development of twentieth-century art. According to Kandinsky, every color speaks its own language with its own expression and every color has a shape and soul. Different colors together will create an inner experience for the viewer. The different sounds in music, which together form a harmonious whole, will also evoke an inner experience in the listener. He calls this powerful effect that color and sound have on the human psyche ‘inner sound’ or ‘seelic vibration’.
Where can I see the works of art in real life?

Complaints & returns
Where can I go with my complaint?
Unfortunately, it can sometimes happen that something goes wrong, for example that an order is damaged during transport. Very unfortunate of course. Of course we want to solve this neatly for you! Call or email us and let us know what you are not satisfied with.
You will receive confirmation of the complaint and will receive a substantive response as soon as possible (no later than 14 days after submitting the complaint, but almost always within one working day).
Can I return my artwork?
Your order will only be put into production once you have communicated your choices and placed the order. So truly custom work. Completely custom work is legally excluded from the right of return. That is also the case with us. For this reason, the right of withdrawal expires. Customization is when we deliver a work of art with specific wishes at your request, for example with specific formats. The general rule is that only products that are made based on an individual choice for the consumer and that cannot therefore be found in a stock somewhere are custom-made. And this makes these products one of the exceptions to the right of withdrawal.
This means that you cannot return your order. To be sure of your choice, you can call, email or make an appointment in the studio, where we can help you choose.
Can I return a sample?
Yes, that’s possible. A test piece refers to a work of art that is finished in the same quality as a unique or limited edition, but in a (much) smaller size of 20 x 30 cm. By means of a sample piece you can get a good impression of the quality for a low price before you possibly buy a unique or limited edition work of art.
Which purchases are covered by the right of withdrawal?
The right of withdrawal only applies to private consumers who purchase items remotely from Koyero, i.e. via the webshop, by telephone or email. In principle, this concerns all items in the webshop such as books, cards, posters, gift items, test pieces. Works of art in a larger format than test pieces are excluded from the right of withdrawal. This applies to unique works of art, works of art in limited editions and open editions.
